Constipation

The Gastroenterological Society of Australia quote: 1 in 10 children and 1 in 5 middle-aged women suffer from constipation. Adult males have fewer problems, but the incidence rises in both sexes with advancing age.

How Often Should I Go?

  1. Thought it varies from person to person, in general proper bowl elimination is considered to be once after each full meal with each movement requiring no more than 16 to 24 hours of transit time. At least once a day, preferably 2-3 times a day. Research around the world has shown that one decent bowel motion every day can be a sign that you will lead a relatively healthy life.
  2. If this waste is not removed within 24 hours, toxic build-up begins.
  3. Once the toxic build-up occurs; you have an invitation for parasite infestation. Because there can be parasites in water, raw foods and under cooked meats, our food should be promptly processed and excreted before parasites have an opportunity to multiply.

The incubation period for most parasites is 36 hours, so you could expect parasite infestations if you have poor elimination.

Amazingly, the AVERAGE bowel transit time in the USA is 96 HOURS!!! (4 Days)

A good elimination is a firm stool 3-4 cm in diameter, light yellow/orange/brown in colour (unless you have eaten beets, greens or a lot of meat) that floats and has odour similar to stale compost.

If it sinks and smells, pay attention to it.
Work towards “Fluffy Floaties” instead of “Stinky Sinkies”. You can achieve good bowel habits as you add raw food, good water, exercise and AIM Herbal FiberBlend® to your daily routine.

Causes of Constipation:

  • Dehydration – insufficient water consumption (especially on plane flights, and not with tea of coffee)
  • Lack of Fibre
  • Stress - eating on the run and stress hinders the natural peristalsis (creeping) movement of the colon and inclines the bowl to screw, tighten and restrict movement due to the bowel not being relaxed.
  • Pharmaceutical Drugs - blood pressure, pain relief, heart disease, depression drugs, steroids
  • Supplements - calcium and iron
  • Parasites – Parasites extract the nutrients from your body and leave behind their waste for you to build your imperfect body. According to Dr Hulda Clark, parasites are found in virtually every case of terminal cancer.
  • Hormones – 50% suffer from Thyroid disease which can slow the bowel
  • Milk – In spite of advertising to the contrary, dairy products are not all that good for you and contain proteins that (if you are genetically susceptible) can trigger long term terminal diseases. Read “The China Study”
  • Lack of Exercise – Exercise creates enzymes (walking stimulates bowel peristalsis)

Remarkably constipation can also trigger regular cycles of diarrhoea (aiding a diagnosis of Irritable Bowel Syndrome) as the body is unable to solidify Chyme after a constipated motion and the Chyme passes through as a liquid (i.e. little nutrient uptake). This can be mainly due to a build up of mucus plaque on the Colon wall.

Constipation will also lead to an acid - deoxygenated system which is a firm nest bed for Cancer as the faeces sits and putrefies day after day. Constipation also contributes to Colitis which is an ulcerated bowel caused by stagnant, toxic, putrefied faeces.

Constipation can lead to: Diverticulitis, Haemorrhoids, Toxic Build-Up, Diarrhoea Cycles, Bloating & Gas, Allergies, Candida, Cravings, Overweight, Itchy Orifices, Muscle & Joint Pain, Lethargy & Fatigue and Irritable Bowel.
